Automated Indoor Farm
Eatclusive developed a minimal viable product to automate the entire process of creating microgreens from seed to harvest back in May of 2024 for the Intro Embedded systems course at the University of Michigan.
Over the past 2 years, creator and founder of Eatclusive Faizan Darsot has completed over 40+ interviews with potential stakeholders such as farmers, restaurant owners, hydroponics technologist, vertical farmers, community driven agriculturalist, and iterated numerous business model canvases using the LEAN Startup method.
After customer discovery, he found out there is a lack of accessibility to fresh produce, difficult distribution methods, and inefficiency in food and resources in existing technologies. The disconnection between the demands of the customers and what is grown in farms lead to excessive waste in food and resources to grow them.
The existing farming technologies suffer from complexity, size, and cost which drive most companies into the ground. Eatclusive aims to collect microgreen consumers from the community and provide the Portable Automated Microgreen Farm to indoor farmers who will grow and service the local consumers.
Eatclusive will develop an application to collect microgreen demands from consumers in a location and provide healthy tasting microgreens to the community. Thus minimizing the marketing and accessibility that farmers have to go through to promote their products.
